Admission Requirements

Admission into the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics Program requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0, although conditional admission is an option in some cases. Admission will also be based upon the program application. Please see below for the specific requirements.

4+1 students

  • Apply to and accepted in program during junior year
  • Completion of all prerequisites by start of program
    • Completion of FCS core classes in Nutrition and Dietetics BS program
    • FCS 102, 103, FCS 171, FCS 202, FCS 204, FCS 271, FCS 305, FCS 311, FCS 341, FCS 410
    • Completion of all required supporting courses in Nutrition and Dietetics BS program

2-year MS students

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree
  • DPD verification statement OR completion of prerequisites below
  • Non-DPD prerequisites (must be completed prior to admission OR with the condition to complete coursework prior to starting program/specified course):
    • Anatomy and Physiology (minimum of 6 hours)
    • Advanced metabolism (must include both macro and micronutrients)
    • Servsafe certification (or equivalent)
    • Medical terminology (or completion of program approved certificate)

Admission to the program is contingent upon admission through Graduate and International Admission.
